i.MX6DL eMMC compatibility

Hello community,

Originally, we used Micron 4GB eMMCs for 8 years and as alternative ISSI 8GB eMMCs - both worked instantly. Micron doesn't supply small eMMCs anymore, ISSI is hard to get right now and our stocks are shrinking.
Now we are testing other eMMCs that are on the market - the first hit at Digikey was Flexxon FEMC004GSTE9-T13-17 - but it is not booting. Programming via SDL/mfgtool looks fine, but after power cycling, i.MX6 falls back to the serial downloader. Playing with the mmc bootbus settings did not help. eMMC version shouldn't be a topic (u-boot 2020.4 supports eMMC5.1).

Before digging deeper into the ROM log events, I wanted to ask the community:

• Is there any experience with Flexxon EMMCs?
• Are there any compatibility lists of eMMCs for i.MX6?
• Are there recommendations for recent "lower-capacity" eMMCs?

EMMC 5.0 and EMMC 5.1 work on i.MX6.

Thanks for your reply, but I knew the post already and the mentioned issue there doesn't apply here.

As I've written: u-boot 2020.4 already supports eMMC5.1 (EXT_CSD_REV = 8).
