Hi,NXP

The SEMC interface supports 4 types of devices, I would like to confirm the following questions:

1. Does it support access two different devices through the SEMC interface in the same project, such as an external SDRAM plug-in, an external SRAM, and data interaction with two peripherals is required in the same project.

2. If it is supported, how much delay is there when the two devices are switched?

thank you!

Hello @jiaxin,

Does it support access two different devices through the SEMC interface in the same project, such as an external SDRAM plug-in, an external SRAM, and data interaction with two peripherals is required in the same project?

In IMXRT1050 Reference Manual mentions: "It can support multiple external memories in the same application with shared address and data pins." So, it might be possible to interface different devices trough the SEMC interface, nonetheless, you can't use them at the same time. This means you have to control which one to work at what time.

If it is supported, how much delay is there when the two devices are switched?

Unfortunately, we do not have that specific data since bus arbitration takes an important role. It should need between 3 or 4 clocks for the CS to change, nevertheless, this is not something that will always be repeated.

Best regards, Raul.
