i.MX 8QuadMax OpenGL performance on Android Automotive

Hi,

If I flash the device with the pre-built image "11.0.0_1.1.0_AUTO_DEMO_8Q" and install and run basemark I get very poor performance (a score of 51) where my mobile (a OnePlus Nord) scores 2819. I assume this is to do with a lack of OpenGL configuration?

I tested your prebuilt image because we are attempting to build our own image based on Android Automotive 11.0.0_1.1.0 and we are having the same issue. Is there a way to get better Open GL performance?

Thanks,

Sam

Thanks,

As I say I have already benchmarked the GPU using basemark: https://www.basemark.com/benchmarks/basemark-gpu/

This is a relatively popular benchmarking application for real time 3D graphics. You can see the results attached.

I did also try some other benchmarking applications. Antutu crashed for me unfortunately, but I tried seascape benchmark: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nature.seascape&gl=GB (result attached)

Do you expect realtime 3D graphics to perform well on this board with Android 11? Do you have any kind of demonstration of this working?

Regards,

Sam

Hello SamHaco,

You can get an application like antutu or glmark to benchmark the gpu, I think this is weird since you are using the demo image. the gpu are enable on Android 11.
