Hi,
I'm currently running WEC2013 on an i.MX53-based system, but since WEC2013 is now obsolete, I'm planning to migrate to Linux.
I understand that the officially supported Linux kernel version for i.MX53 is 2.6.35.
Are there newer Linux kernel versions (e.g., 3.x, 4.x, 5.x) that are known to work on i.MX53?
Would it be feasible to use a custom Yocto-based Linux distribution, for example using Yocto 4.0 (Kirkstone) or Yocto 5.0 (Scarthgap) for i.MX53?
I'm especially interested in knowing the current level of support in mainline kernels or through community-maintained BSPs, and any known limitations (e.g., graphics or multimedia features).
Thanks in advance!
Hi @pvshankar96
Sorry, we are not support imx5 after Linux kernel version 2.6.35. Also In Yocto 4.0, it mainly supports i.MX6 and above platforms, and no longer includes i.MX53.
