I try to set up the Yocto Project on a Linux machine and build an image.
quick start
$: mkdir imx-yocto-bsp
$: cd imx-yocto-bsp
$: repo init -u https://source.codeaurora.org/external/imx/imx-manifest -b imx-linux-sumo -
m imx-4.14.78-1.0.0_ga.xml
$: repo sync
Prepare Toolchain
DISTRO=fsl
DISTRO=fsl-imx-wayland MACHINE=imx8mmevk source fsl-setup-release.sh -b imx8mmevk_wayland
bitbake meta-toolchain
download is very difficult for do_fetch recipes-devtools, such as binutils ,and so on. The entire download process takes a very long time and still fail finally.
log as belows
NOTE: Running task 25 of 3156 (/home/runzhao/work/imx/sources/poky/meta/recipes-devtools/binutils/binutils-cross_2.30.bb:do_fetch)

Hello Run,
I just compiled l4.14.98-2.0.0 on Ubuntu 18.04. This is to test whether Ubuntu 18.04 can compile l4.14.98 normally for a customer. It took me 3-4 days in total, which is a very long process indeed.
I have also encountered many fetch errors, but these errors are caused by the abnormal network connection.
You can refer to the link: https://community.nxp.com/docs/DOC-344893
Have a nice day!
