Will NXP plan I.MX Win10 IoT SDK to support 88W8997(WiFi+BT), 88W8987?
customer platform: IMX8M-Nano
Check Current versions W21H2-1-5-0, W21H2-1-4-1 only support
88W8897 WiFi+BT
88W8997 WiFi

Hi @yao_feng @Bio_TICFSL ,
let me correct this answer. There is currently no support for Wifi on Nano, as the board has no PCIe slot. Bluetooth is supported through some general drivers available which enable connecting devices using USB dongle. There are currently no plans scheduled for this feature.
Kind regards,
Sara
Hi @sara_sujova @Bio_TICFSL
As I know, there is a 88W8987 module on board (AW-CM358) interface: WiFi:SDIO/ BT:UART
There is still no plan to support it in next Win10 IOT BSP?
BTW, any other i.mx8 or 9 serious evk will support 88W8987 or 88W8997 (WiFi and BT functions)?
Thanks.
Hi @yao_feng ,
yes there is a built-in module but those are not supported by Win10IoT, as Win driver source code is not available (Mini, Nano and MQ).
There are 2 tested modules:
AW-CM276MA based on 88W8997 (Wifi: PCIe (supported), BT: UART (not supported))
AW-CB178NF based on 88W8897 (Wifi: PCIe (supported), BT: USB (supported))
There is no plan so far to extend support for different peripheries than PCIe (because of said reasons), or new chips, but i.MX8M, i.MX8M Mini, i.MX8M Plus or i.MX8QXP with WiFi on 88W8997 works with config WiFI: PCIe and BT:USB - since BSP1.4.0. For example module AW-CM276NF in base configuration should work with both WiFi and BT.
Kind regards,
Sara
Hello,

Thanks.
Correct! is on schedule for next Quarter or next BSP revision.

Sorry, double confirm in next Win10 IOT BSP revision, both chips will be supported?
88W8997 WiFi+BT
and
88W8987 WiFi+BT
Thanks.
Hello,
Correct!.
