I can't find any desciptions of the MIPI_VREG_0P4V pin on the iMX7D processor. Is it a cap, power or io pin and what is it used for?

The short answer for this pin is a No Connect.
The long answer is that this pin is included in the table that will be in the next rev of the datasheet.
