User guide to C/C++ Develop Application for i.MX 8M PLUS EVK

Hi

I want to set up Dev Environment for i.MX 8M PLUS EVK.

I went through the "Developing an Application for the i.MX Devices on the Linux Platform" Document Number: AN3870 which pointed towards prerequisites. One of the Prerequisite was to refer Linux User guide(Document identifier: IMXLUG) and Chapter 2 of Linux User guide pointed to i.MX Yocto Project User's Guide (IMXLXYOCTOUG). I Set up the Environment by building a target Image "core-image-base" as multiple attempts of "imx-image-full" failed. However once I did this and refer "Developing an Application for the i.MX Devices on the Linux Platform" I am unable to proceed as the paths referred by "Developing an Application for the i.MX Devices on the Linux Platform" in section 4 ( /opt/freescale/usr/local) are not installed even after building 8mplus image on Linux Host PC. Iam using Linux 18.04 as recommended. 

Is there a updated user guide for setting up Dev Environment and Developing Application for 8MPlus?

Thanks Igor, I looked at the Yocto tutorial but it doesn't have details on setting up development  environment. I have compiled the image for IMX8M plus using the Yocto tutorial now I want to create C/C++ application and  deploy. I am asking from documentation which helps me to to create a C/C++ application on Host PC , cross compile and port on IMX8M plus EVK.
