Hi,
I have a problem with the Temrinal emulation (putty) with my Sabre Lite board.
The output from the boot process ist correct, but I can`t make any input...
The OS on my PC ist Windows 7 64-bit
The settings of the terminal emulation seems to be okay:
115.2 kbaud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, no flow control.
I have used the cables from the kit: 1 Custom Serial cable, 6-pin female to dual DB9 mal connectos an 1 DB9 female to DB9 female cable.
What ist wrong? Where is my mistake?
Many thanks,
Chris
Hi Chris,
Your settings are correct (115200,8,N,1, no flow control).
The dual-DB-9 to Molex cable we ship is configured as DCE, to allow direct connection to a PC serial port or USB serial adapter.
I'm not sure what you're referring to regarding the DB9 female-female cable and the "custom serial cable".
Can you take a photo?
From your description of the symptoms, it appears that the Tx line from your PC isn't making it to the board.
The DB9 cable ist a standard serial cable Sub D
The other cable is a Molex to 2 x Sub D (one for Debug).
The Cables ar in the Kit from element14.

Then I have no idea how you need to cable things. You might need to put a meter on the cable to verify that pin 3 on your DB-9 from your PC is connected to Pin 5 of J17 on the SABRE Lite.
