Hi All,

   I am using IMX 6Q, hardware-Mars board. I am working to interface audio to MArs board. All i need is to play audio in speakers, mic not necessary. I guess DAC is enough for my requirement. Can anyone suggest me  which hardware would suit my requirement.

Hi,

To send audio to your speakers you will need a codec and, if the codec IC or speakers doesn't have one already, an amplifier. If you want to use headphones only, the amplifier is not needed.

I'm not familiar with the Mars board, but in our boards:

- ARD uses CS42888 for the ESAI interface.

- SDP uses WM8962 for the SSI interface.

You can take a look on Freescale boards, and see what hardware they use and mainly, how they connect things up.

I´m sorry, but I´m not a hardware girl, I cannot suggest you things.

Are you sure your board does not have a audio chip?
