Reading from GPIO_PSR/DR

Hello, 

I have a question with the GPIO Read Mode sequence. After writing value to data_register (GPIO_DR), should be able to read the same state from the GPIO_PSR after I have configured GPIO direction register to input? I saw that reading in input mode, the value from GPIO_DR is updated after I wrote something, but this is not the case for GPIO_PSR.
