Question about iMX6UL EVK Reset

Hi,

I am new to iMX6UL processor. When I look at iMX6UL EVK board, I notice that the reset switch and software watchdog reset connected to the enable pin of DCDC_3V3 power regulator through a reset IC. So, If the user press reset button or software generates a watchdog reset event, the iMX6UL will be powered off. My question is:

1. Why the reset will power off the iMX6UL? In most cases, the Linux is running on iMX6UL. A power off reset may cause the data lost other issues. Is that a concern?
2. What if the reset signal goes to nPOR pin of iMX6UL? Any down side of it?

For answer your question find my answer as per below:

1. We are assuming that you are using an application and the application needs to be sync after write something to it. The cause of data lost while reset is application dependent.

2. It is not necessary to give reset signal on nPOR pin of iMX6UL as by pressing the reset button or software generated  watchdog reset it also gives the reset signal to nPOR pin of imx6UL.
