NXP IMX 8M Plus Android automotive support

I understand from different links that NXP does not support out of the box, android automotive with NXP IMX8M Plus board.

But i want to understand is it due to some issues in terms of board and kernel compilation for the android automotive ?

What i mean is that when i see the xml file provided by NXP, it is at last bringing together many repos. Also, I understand that NXP supports android with IMX8M Plus board. 

So, if i understand the full environment and compilations of the android automotive environment which is part of the AOSP source code, i would be able to make android automotive work for the board or is there some intrinsic things which i might have missed, makes this task not possible ?

Thank you for contacting NXP Support.

It seems that there is no limitation to port Android Automotive OS (AAOS) for the iMX8M Plus in hardware terms because this processor has CAN interface that is required for the Vehicle Hardware Abstraction Layer. However, we don't have any documentation or references that could help you to successfully port this operating system. In addition to that, the process to port Android is out of our scope and we won't be able to give support.
