MC34708VM question...

Dear experts,

Based on MC34708VM datasheet and errata, charger and coulomb counter features are removed. Under Pin description, E6, F6 and E8 are indicated as "NC". However, in our current design in production, these three pins are pulled to High state permanently (3.6V). Is it ok to do this? or are they absolutely needed to be "NC"?

Regards,

LC

Hi LC,

Since the Coulomb Counter on the MC34708 is no longer supported, then yes, the recommendation is to leave the mentioned pins as NC, however, if in your design these pins are already connected, then you can leave then connected permanently to 3.6V without any problem.

Have a great day,
