Dear NXP team,
We are currently using your i.MX 8M Nano in combination with a MT53D512M16D1DS-046 in production. This works great, and the size of the memory is more then sufficient for our application.
We have been notified that these (and other Micron parts that are similar) are to be discontinued by Micron. By looking at your recently updated compatibility guide:
https://community.nxp.com/t5/i-MX-Processors-Knowledge-Base/i-MX-8M-Quad-8M-Mini-8M-Nano-8M-Plus-LPD...
I see It states the MT53D512M32D2DS-053 WT:D now with a 32 bit bus of which half is used, but for all parts in the list that apply to the Nano, Note 15 applies with the obsolete mark.
If you could share any information about future compatibility testing on your roadmap, or are aware of any alternatives that are worth investigating, please let us know.
Will you update your reference designs?
Thanks in advance!
Hello,
There are not new reference design regarding obsolete Micron parts. The DDR compatibility guide is actively maintained, and you can consult memory vendors for up-to-date compatibility in case of an update.
Unfortunately, there is no a roadmap for newer memory parts in EVK.
You can check for replacements from manufacturer or part numbers with similar features.
Best regards.
