Hi,

We are looking for the Wi-Fi module to be interfaced with iMX6DL processor. For the same, we have shortlisted the Murata LBEE5XV1YM module which is using the NXP 88W8997 chipset inside.

1. Is Linux kernel driver of LBEE5XV1YM module is provided by NXP/Module Vendor?
2. Is Linux driver available on 4.1.15 Linux kernel?
3. Please respond to the below queries related to our product requirements in context of LBEE5XV1YM module and Driver support
    a. To run the AP+STA simultaneously, is there any known limitation or a sequence of proper steps needs to be followed?
    b. Regarding the AP+STA mode, We wanted to understand the behavior of the module in the below use cases,
        Case 1:
The module is configured and running as AP on channel number 1(2.412 GHz). When the module performs the scan as a STATION, which frequency AP list will be received in the scan request? (Only 2.4 GHz APs or both 2.4 and 5 GHz APs).
        Case 2:
The module is configured and running as AP on channel number 1(2.412 GHz). What steps do we need to perform to connect the module as STATION with the external AP running on 5GHz?

Thanks & Regards.

Hi Sanket

88W8997 drivers are provided in latest nxp linux releases (but not L4.1.15) as described in

Table 50. On-board chips and external solutions for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support   i.MX Linux Reference Manual

For configuration one can look at 88W8997 docuemntation below, in particular UM11483
