KitKat 4.4.3 on Linux Kernel 4.1.15?

Wondering how I could run/add the newest Linux kernel  4.1.15 for Android KitKat 4.4.3 (that currently is running linux 3.10.53) on the SabreLite board? I know it should be possible, but will NXP ever release something like that, or will I have to work on this myself? 

And if anyone has an interest, could you give me some tips/pointers on developing this (I want to start working on this, and hopefully have it done by the end of the year).

I am not aware of Android KitKat 4.4 with Linux kernel  4.1.15, seems one can start with:
