Kernel migration from 3.10 to 5.15 for Freescale i.MX6SX rev1.4

We would like to update the kernel for i.MX6SX from 3.10 to 5.15.

Is there any compatibility between U-Boot and Kernel version?

Currently we are using U-Boot 2017.03. Will this U-Boot support for kernel 5.15 or U-Boot update is required?

Also to update kernel 5.15 is there any other dependency?
