Hi,
How many IPU's does the imx8m-MINI support.
I see imx8m-mini has ONE CSI controller.
Our present system uses two mipi cameras(13MP and 5MP) and a parallel fingerprint device on imx6.
Best,
Suman
Thanks igorpadykov.
Does i.MX8M-Mini support TWO IPU's?
I went through the Processor Spec (IMX8MMRM.pdf) but could not find details about IPUs.
For imx6, i get them in an application note
https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN5305.pdf
Do you have something similar for imx8Mmini?
Best,
Suman
Hi Suman
i.MX8M-Mini has not IPU modules, it is completely different than i.MX6 processor.
Best regards
igor
Hi igorpadykov,
Can you point me to the reference docs to understand more about internals of CSI blocks on imx8M-mini?
Our present system on imx6 has 3 peripherals.
1. Parallel 0 -> mapped to a parallel finger print sensor
2. Virtual Channel 1 (VC1) mapped to CSI1 of IPU1
3. VC2 mapped to CSI0 of IPU2.
We are evaluating to move to iMX8M-Mini. What are the technically feasible options to have the above functionalities on i.MX8M-Mini
Thanks Igor. I went through Chapter 13, section CSI Bridge and MIPI CSI Host Controller of the said document.
Since there are no IPUs, What is your recommendation for design to have all 3 peripherals?
1. Parallel FingerPrint
2. TWO mipi csi cameras.
Best,
Suman
Hi Suman
for two mipi csi cameras better to use i.MX8M, it has two mipi csi modules.
There is no parallel interface support in i.MX8M (Mini), one can consider i2c/spi/uart to
parallel converter, probably with fpga.
Best regards
igor
Hi Suman
correct, i.MX8M Mini has one MIPI-CSI module, as described in
AN12296 i.MX 8M Mini Migration Guide
https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN12296.pdf
i.MX 8M Mini Applications Processor | Arm Cortex A53/M4 | 1080P display | NXP
Best regards
igor
