Hi ,
We've upgraded the kernel from 4.14 to 5.4 and we got an issue , we couldn't have access to the console after booting the linux kernel and the init.

Thanks for the response but We don't use OPTEE and the issue is not that . In fact , you gave a response for something  else than my issue . WE have an issue related to serial console which blocked the getty to start.

If you are using the EVK, kindly try the demo images from the Embedded Linux for i.MX Applications Processors and share the result.
 
In case of failure, kindly check the power/clock-related information from section 4. Avoiding board bring-up problems from the Hardware Development Guide for i.MX7Dual
and 7Solo Applications Processors IMX7DSHDG
 
If the issue is not yet resolved kindly share the device tree you are using to further debug the issue.

Hello @ibenhassen,

I hope you are doing well.

This usually happens when the kernel can't decompress the initial ramdisk image during the boot process.
Please make sure to check the ramdisk configuration matches in the kernel.
Please make sure to check these configurations in the defconfig file.
If possible can you check the same using the latest kernel by rebuilding that and then check it?
