IMX6 Quad and Dual Pin Compability

The question is in the title, are IMX6 Quad and Dual pin compatible? Planning to build 2 versions of a product for some cost reductions.

It would be helpful if that is the case.

Hello Atilla,

Yes,  the i.MX6 Quad/Dual and Solo Lite are Pin  a Pin Compatible and Software Compatible.  This is one of the advantages of the i.MX6 Family.

Just to clarify, IMX6Quad, IMX6Dual, IMX6DualLite, IMX6Solo and IMX6 SoloLite are all pin compatible? Not just

IMX6Q-D-S within each other and IMX6DL-SL witihin each other independently?

Yes, let me clarify,

IMX6D-Q-S are compatible each other.  

iMX6DL-SL  compatible with each other

Hi,

As per datasheet "For Quad core system, connect to VDD_ARM_IN. For Dual core system, may be shorted to GND together with
VDD_ARM23_CAP to reduce leakage." Now I have made a design with Quad core and i would like to replace with Dual core and I have connected VDD_ARM23_IN with VDD_ARM_IN, and I havn't put an option for connecting with GND.

What should i do now?

What are the other changes i need to do while to have compatibility for Dual core and Quad core?
