I am using IMX6 Dual processor in my current project.

My PCB Size is 1mm thick,When i power up the system processor heats too much within 5-10 minutes.

Is this normal issue or something to worry about. Please guide me.

Hi Ronak

booting up to Uboot without enabled caches, processor is not hot.

However when you enabled caches and boot Linux it may be hot.

If playing video or using graphics engine (GPU) it may be more hot.

You can look below for background:

I am using the same series processor in my previous design.

The difference between previous and present design is just PCB thickness rest all is same.

In my previous design it was not heating too much as of now.

Hi Ronak

you can measure current in both cases and compare.
