IEEE 1588 clock synchronization for multi-ports

Hi,

I am using IMXRT1064 to implement IEEE 1588 function on two Ethernet ports simultaneously. So I need them to have a common reference timer. I saw in the manual that I can enable timer slave mode (ENETn_ATCR [SLAVE] = 1). By enabling slave mode (ENETn_ATCR[SLAVE] = 1), the timer is ignored and the current time is externally provided from one of the external modules.

How should I use it?

Thank you.

Hi Mingzhe Liu,

Thank you for your interest in NXP Semiconductor products and
for the opportunity to serve you.
To provide the fastest possible support, I'd highly recommend you to refer to the application note:
https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/nxp/application-notes/AN12149.pdf for details.

Have a great day,
TIC

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I had seen the documentation of that you said. But I didn't find any explanation about "slave mode" in the AN12149.pdf.

There is a short description in section 41.7.10.2 of IMXRT1064RM.pdf. But I didn't know how to configurate it.

Here is the description:
