Is there a register on the I.MX8M that distinguishes between Silicon Rev. A and B (rev 1.0 and rev 1.1)? EB00870 (i.mx 8m Mask Set 1N14W to 2N14W Migration Guide) refers to a "Silicon version register address" at 0x30350040, but there doesn't seem to be a reference to it in the Reference Manual.

Aldo,

Our I.MX8MQxA boards report back:

CPU:   Freescale i.MX8MQLite rev2.0 1300 MHz (running at 800 MHz)
the I.MX8MQxB boards report:
CPU:   Freescale i.MX8MQLite rev2.1 1300 MHz (running at 800 MHz)
How do these values correlate with the revs you referred to?
Thanks,
Mike

Hello,

Sorry for the confusion,

Rev 1.0 ---> A0 chips

Rev 2.0 ---> B0 chips

Rev 2.1 ---> B1 chips

Hope this helps,

Best regards,

Aldo.

Hello,

The mscale B1 uses OCOTP_HW_OCOTP_READ_FUSE_DATA register for chip id, it returns 0xff0055aa.

Also, you may take a look to the part marking of the device you are using i.e.

MIMX8MQxxxxxxxA -----> Rev 1.0

MIMX8MQxxxxxxxB -----> Rev 1.1

This information is available in the product datasheet Figure 2. Part number nomenclature

Hope this helps,

Best regards,

Aldo.
