How to use the IMX8MP hardware encoder

I was wondering how to enable/use the IMX8MP hardware encoder? Is there a way I can use it for a python application? I am using a basler daA3840-30mc and was also wondering if someone could confirm if gstreamer uses the hardware encoder by default. IF not can someone explain what is going on. I am new.

The iMX8MP has hardware encoder/ decoder for audio and video, if you want to use with gstreamer is uses the hardware for default.
