How to use GPU hardware acceleration on IMX6Q(android5.0)

I am trying to run a app on android 5.0(hardware :imx6q),which displays lots of pictures in short time. But it's performance(FPS < 20) is very low.

I want to know that does imx6q (android5.0 )support GPU hardware acceleration.

If it support ,how to enable it. If not, what should I do to increase the performance?

The hardware acceleration for graphics and multimedia is enabled by default in the i.MX6Q Android 5.0.0 BSP by NXP. However, a software developer should use some special programming techniques to access this feature. For more information, please refer to attached document.
