How to capture HDMI Input (Audio and Video) on iMX8 Mini using gstreamer

Hi Sir,

I am using one iMX8 Mini board and I want to receive / capture HDMI Signal (Audio and Video) coming at its HDMI port. 

I have another custom board which send audio and video signal on HDMI and that signal I want to receive / capture on iMX8 hence I need to use some gstreamer pipeline to receive / capture this HDMI signal. 

But I searched the iMX doc and gstreamer documents but I am not able to find out which gstreamer pipline I need to use to receive / capture  HDMI audio and video   signal.

Any suggestion or help.

As far as I know there is no HDMI in option that comes with the imx8m mini evk.

A MIPI-DSI to HDMI adaptor is supplied to allow HDMI video output (it plugs into one of the sas ports), but as far as I know, it is only for output.

I WISH there were an NXP solution for HDMI to MIPI-CSI through the sas connectors.

Thanks for your reply. Actually, I want to connect the HDMI output of my laptop to the imx8 mini HDMI, and from the imx8 mini, I want to stream this video on an imx8 mini display or any other HDMI display. 

hence my understanding is that I need to use GStreamer at imx8 mini to capture video which is coming from my PC HDMI and then using GStreamer stream it to imx8 mini display. 

please suggest to me how can I do this?

You might be able to get to the HDMI input using a usb dongle. 

Haven't tried this with an IMX yet, but worked with cheapo dongle on another board I was working on.

The HDMI on MX8MMiniEVK is TX don't have HDMI input.
