How should i add new drivers to my kernel module?

Hi all,
I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question,but i guess this  last option available to me.

I have an i.MX233 based board , running Yocto  .

I have to add a custom driver to the kernel source, and I have no idea how to do this.
any help will be appreciated.
