How does IMX8M communicate with FPGA

Dear,

We used other chips to communicate with FPGA through local-bus before, but IMX8M seems to only support SPI's nor-flash interface, which is too slow. Does IMX8M have a similar local-bus interface to communicate with FPGA?

Hi Jack,

I.MX8M doesn't support local bus, BUT support PCIe interface. So you can select FPGA with PCIe interface.

Actually, this kind of interface is not called local bus on iMX processors, but WEIM, which is supported by i.MX6QP, I.MX6Q, I.MX6D, IMX6DL , I.MX6S , i.MX6UL.

Hope above information is helpful for you!

Have a nice day!

B.R,

Weidong
