Harpoon without Linux

Hi,

When I look at the pictures about Harpoon it seems that Both Linux and other RTOS modules are running on top of Jailhouse Hypervisor. It also says:

"Enables a choice of RTOS’s to run within Jailhouse hypervisor environment on the Arm® Cortex®-A cores of NXP MPU’s."

So this implies Harpoon can be used without Linux. Is that correct?

Hi Simmania:

From the Harpoon User's Guide: Linux is needed

This text does not say that Linux is required. It says that both Linux and an RTOS can run in parallel on the Harpoon environment. That does not mean that Linux is mandatory.

Thanks, but the doc says the system starts on Linux and the Jailhouse hypervisor partitions the hardware to run both Linux and the guest RTOS in parallel.
