HDR10 on iMX8M-evk Yocto

Hi nxp,

I'm interested in testing the HDR10 support with the latest iMX8M-evk Yocto release. I noticed the DRM/KMS display driver contains some support for sending HDR metadata, and also some patches here meta-freescale/0002-unstable-Add-hdr10-metadata-protocol.patch at master · Freescale/meta-freescale ...  for Weston for adding HDR meta data protocol to Wayland/Weston.

Can you share some more documentation on how I can test this?

Also do you support the full HDR video decode pipeline today using gstreamer, (e.g. meta-data passed from decoders down the pipeline and then eventually onto the DRM/KMS display subsystem in the kernel)?

I'm looking for some example commands for testing the support that exists today for both the display output side, and also testing the Weston hdr metadata protocol and integration with gstreamer if it is available.

Many thanks,

Peter.

Hello,

If you have the latest BSP releases there will not be needed the patch that you are mentioning, the HDR output is native from the 4K resolution. If your display supports HDR, the command line to play a video in 4K should be enough.

Hope this can help you.

Best Regards,

Diego.
