We are using i.MX8M custom board with "fsl-yocto-L4.9.51_mx8mq-ga" release.
In our board when HDMI is enabled using DCSS, when we boot the board without connecting HDMI cable board hangs or restart after below print.

It boots without any issue when HDMI cable is connected, and also after booting, if cable removed and connected it works fine.

Just to be completely sure, the connection and the drivers that you use are exactly the same as the ones in our reference board?
This is because, neither the apps engineer and I can reproduce the error that you are having.
