Hi
We were wondering if anyone else had had difficulties - perhaps driver related - with HDMI output from the i.MX 8M PLus after upgrading to the 6.12 kernel?
We did the native upgrade of two Debix Model A boards to the 6.12 kernel via an SSH connection and tried plugging in an HDMI monitor today - on both boards the Debix splash screen displays correctly for a few moments when the board first boots but then gets replaced by a blinking horizontal cursor with no graphical user interface. Both boards remain available over SSH and the serial console (longer term we'll move to cross compiling rather than native builds).
The 2nd board where this happened was showing the GUI correctly immediately before it was reset but after resetting the GUI disappeared. This problem was the same when we ran sudo reboot, when we used the reset button on the board and when we disconnected and reconnected the power to the board.
I've been working on the boards via SSH recently but connected an HDMI monitor today to test camera modules.
We weren't sure if there might be a problem with a driver required for the HDMI monitor? A friend suggested that it could maybe be a problem with the Vivante IP Core driver etnaviv used by the i.MX 8M Plus? This involves a proprietary driver which isn't included in the open source code.

Hi @Bio_TICFSL
Thank you very much.
This was my fault - I was using NXP's Ubuntu distribution and had tried to upgrade the kernel without realizing that the Ubuntu distribution is no-longer being updated - I've now moved over to NXP's Debian distribution - is NXP planning to continue to update the Debian distribution long-term?
Thank you very much for your help
