Generating a clock on SSP2_SCK

I have been trying to configure an i.MX287 to generate a clock on SSP2_SCK with no success. I used the OBDS as a starting point. I have also been reading Section 10 of the i.MX28 Applications Processor Reference Manual, this is from section 10.2.3;

"This clock gating is instantiated using an ICG element from the standard cell library."

What is an ICG element and how do I use it? An Internet search provided no useful information.
