I see the following information output from the galcore driver

drv_ioctl(612): input or/and output structures are invalid.
   gcmkONERROR: status=-1(gcvSTATUS_INVALID_ARGUMENT) @ drv_ioctl(615)

In both versions of the driver, the definition of struct_gcsHAL_INTERFACE structure is not exactly the same. I think this may be the cause of this problem.

If I still want to use the imx-4.14.98 filesystem, what changes are needed to adapt the 3.14.52 kernel?

Hi, li yigang

You need to set below configurations before running the GPU test script:

  1. Enable Kernel Configuration using menuconfig- CONFIG_MXC_GPU_VIV=y.
  2. Once device boot, set Display Environment Variable in board console with this "export DISPLAY=:0" command.

Regards,

Shivani

I'm sure that CONFIG_MXC_GPU_VIV=y has been set, and the same KERNEL with imx-4.1.15-1.0.0 rootfs is normal, but imx-4.14.98 is not.

When strace. / g2d_test is run on 4.14 ROOTFS, the following error occurs in the IOCTL call:

       openat(AT_FDCWD, "/dev/galcore", O_RDWR) = 3
       ioctl(3, _IOC(0, 0x75, 0x30, 0), 0x7ebf55e0) = -1 ENOTTY (Inappropriate ioctl for device)

Maybe the imx-4.14.98 file system is not compatible with the old BSP in GPU. Today, after I changed it to imx-4.1.15-1.0.0, the GPU test program is normal.

If I still want to use the imx-4.14.98 filesystem, what changes are needed to adapt the 3.14.52 kernel?

Some software in imx-4.1.15-1.0.0 is too old

Running gpu.sh at the terminal has the following abnormal information:“failed to open device:no such file or directory, Try again”

Running glmark2-es2 has the same exception information
