Hello,

Single shot mode (also know as one-shot mode) is a transmission mode which will try to send a can frame only once ( no automatic retransmission if there is a transmission error ). For more information about single shot mode you can se SJA1000 manual (http://www.nxp.com/documents/application_note/AN97076.pdf )

We are developing can protocol stacks and in order to implement a time triggered protocol on imx6, we would like to know if single shot feature is available on the can controller.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Madjid

No, there is no Single Shot Transmission feature implemented in the FlexCAN module of the i.MX6 series processors. Only regular Transmission Abort operation can be performed.

Have a great day,
Artur

The FlexCAN module can detect and signal the transmission error.
