Flashing Raw Nand Flash using JTAG programmer will not work

Hi ,

I  previously had discussion with some group members that whether is it possible to write the Raw Nand Flash using JTAG programmer . Some group members suggested , it will work . Per my understanding , it will not work as the Raw Flash interfaced with the NAND Controller of the processor. So to access the NAND Flash , NAND Controller must be initialized first .  It is not like how we flash the ARM Cortex M series microcontrollers.  Flashing NAND flash is only possible only when the NAND Controller is properly initialized. Please correct me if there is any flaw in my understanding.

Hi Aditya

I think you are right, processor nand controller along with bch uses own procedure

for writing nand and ecc. Flashing NAND flash is only possible only when the nand controller

and bch are properly initialized.
