Executing Program from SDRAM performance

Hi,

We'd like to copy our application from NOR flash and execute from the external SDRAM. My understanding is that the SDRAM controller is connected to a 32 bit bus, whereas the Serial NOR Flash is connected to a 64 bit bus. The result is reduced performance when executing instructions from the SDRAM. How poor will the performance be? We're using the IMXRT1176.

Hope you are well.

Yes, it is expected some reduced performance between SDRAM and Nor flash however this difference is not significant if you place text on SDRAM and data on DTCM.
