Hi Team,

I need an eclipse setup for c,c++ development. What is the configuration and compiler setup required for Yocto zeus build linux running on imx8m.

Is there a specific Eclipse version support for the same.

Thanks and regards,

Srinu Inaganti

Hello Srinu Inaganti,

There is not an Eclipse release that it’s ready to cross compile for the i.MX8MM out of the box.

There are some threads on the Communities that may be of help, like the following.

Albeit these only offer some general recommendations. You should be able to extract the toolchain from the Linux BSP release in which you are interested. After this you would need to setup the environment variables for your project, for which we do not have a step-by-step document for the i.MX8MM. The following Guide may help in general terms altough it’s based on an older BSP and processor.

https://community.nxp.com/docs/DOC-172840

The available documentation for Eclipse may also be able to shed some light on this.

I hope this helps!

I have installed latest Eclipse 2020-03. I try to add yocto eclipse plug in or ADT. But I didn't find. Is only the specific eclipse ide only supports. Have you done any time this setup.

Thanks for reply.

Hello Srinu Inaganti,

I had done it for an older BSP and for the i.MX6 a while back, so things might have changed. When I did I followed the steps on the document I mentioned on my previous post, which should remain similar. I do not think there is a Yocto plugin per se, you would add the toolchain that you extracted from Yocto manually so that Eclipse knows where to find it.
