Configuring Linux for unpowered GPU

I have a custom iMX8QM board based that was designed based on the iMX8QM MEK board with some of those features removed. One difference is that we removed the second PMIC Chip and have left GPU0 and GPU1 unpowered. We customized the SCFW to remove the second PMIC and have gotten uboot to start booting linux (which fail during boot because of missing gpu power).

What customization needs to be done to linux-imx to allow linux to boot without a GPU? what devices need to be removed/modified from the device tree (using imx8qm-mek.dts as a base)? what configs need to be changed in the defconfig?

For reference we are using release LF5.15.32_2.0.0

Hello,

You should disable GPU form menu config at attach one dts that does not have a GPU. But if you are based you design on yocto bsp from NXP you must check the config for PMIC.

Regards
