Compile error when download and make i.MX Yocto project

Hi,

I am using the imx 6sx SABRE-SDB development board. I want to download and build the i.MX Yocto project following the i.MX Yocto Project User's Guide, Rev. L4.9.11_1.0.0-ga+mx8-alpha, 09/2017. But it report an error when executing "bitbake fsl-image-validation-imx" command. The host environment is ubuntu 16.04 LTS on vmware. I don't know why it report the error. I have tried several times and the error remains.

Please tell me how resolve or avoid this problem. Thank you.

In past few day, I met the same problem with Yocto BSP compile, no matter the BSP version of L4.9.11 or L4.9.99 even L4.14.78.

below compile error message:

do you build imx6sx using L4.9.11_1.0.0-ga+mx8-alpha? this bsp is for imx8, if you need to build imx6sx, pls refer to the bsp for imx6sx, you can find them from nxp official website.

I followed the guide i.MX_Yocto_Project_User's_Guide_4.9.88 to download and make the 4.9.88 BSP. It seems successful. That is great.  Thank you!

I have another two questions.

1.  But there are 28 warnings like this, does this matter about the BSP compile?

2. About the 4.9.11_1.0.0, previous I referred to the 4.9.11 guide i.MX_Yocto_Project_User's_Guide, it includes the IMX6sxsabresd and other IMX6 series. I can't see it is just for imx8 if I don't look at the document revision.  Should NXP update the document for 4.9.11 to specify this?

1) don't worry about the warning if you bulit successfully

2) the bsp you metioned L4.9.11_1.0.0-ga+mx8-alpha is for mx8, you can tell from the name, if you need 4.9.11 for imx6sx, you can download from nxp official website as below:
