Hello.

I want to decode 3840x1080P 30frame/s(3840x1080p30) at i.MX6Q SabreSD Board. (Android Jellybean 4.2.2-1.1.0)

According to Maunal, I.MX6Quad/Dual can decode upto 1920X1080P 60frame/s.

So I think that it is possible, becase both have same bandwidth.

I tried to decode 3840x1080p30 Video, and It can be decoded but cannot use hadware decode function. so it is very slow (for only using software decoding).

Can I decode 3840x1080P30 using Hardwre decoding function(it is called VPU).

Please Let me know if anyone knows about the way.

Thank you.

It cannot be done by hardware, only by software but as you already saw, it will be painfully slow.

Hi,

Which application you are using to decode this vector?

You can try with Default Gallery and check the logcat information. This will provide you more detail.

Thanks

Default Gallery and Cactus Player were not able to decode the video.

I could only decode it at Mxplayer, but using software decoding. (it is very slow....)

Hi,

Can you provide the logcat detail? Only this will be helpful...

There may be limitation in VPU for dimensions...or may be some error in OMXPlayer framework...

Thanks

Saurabh
