Automotive Ethernet

Hi everyone,

We're thinking of using automotive ethernet and switch with TJA1101 and SJA1105Q.

MPU we used in the project has only one ethernet module.

Do we have any problems with programming and debugging with ssh?

Also, are there drivers of them available?

Furthermore, we need to use Radio Tuner in this project but there is no available tuner IC with RDS which has a driver in Linux. Please suggest me a radio tuner to use in Linux. NXP has some tuner IC (TEF668X)  but we can't access their datasheets and don't know if has a driver for Linux.

By the way, iMX6SX has been used in the project.

SJA1105Q doesn't seem in release notes for any products so there is no product that can use it?

As I understand, nothing definitive can be said without testing them.

Hi Gokhan

unfortunately these chips are not supported in nxp i.mx6 linux bsps, supported functionality

can be found in Linux  documentation (Release Notes) on
i.MX Software and Development Tools | NXP

May be useful to look on

tja110x_linux_phydev - TJA110x Ethernet transceivers Linux Driver

Radio Tuner product page

TEF668X | NXP

and request additional info from sales office, contacts can be found in

sect.10. Contact information  https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/data-sheet/TEF668X_SDS.pdf

Best regards
igor

Does this mean we can't use them in the project with IMX6?

If installed the drivers to BSP manually, even so, will not work?

It seems SJA1105 and TJA1101 are supported over Linux 4.1, it means we can use them with current IMX6 BSP.

sja1105x_linux_switchdev - SJA1105x Ethernet switches Linux Driver

We have to use automotive ethernet in the project, is there any another way to use them with IMX6X?

right, as official nxp bsps do not support them.

you can try them. Please note that supported drivers are described in Linux

documentation (Release Notes) on
i.MX Software and Development Tools | NXP

one can try extended support with Commercial Support and Engineering Services | NXP

for developing and customizing these drivers
