Audio Codec for i.MX8M Mini

Hi,

I am using 8M Mini on a design and we need to support carplay on the same.

Based on 8M Mini datasheet, there is no inbuilt codec for encoding and decoding.

MCIMX6Q-Smart device board has WM8962 and MCIMX8QXP-CPU MEK Platform design has WM8960 as codecs. Which Codec IC would you recommend to be used with 8M Mini to support carplay?

Thank you for contacting NXP Support!

For carplay, I recommend using iMX8 or iMX8X because are parts compatible with carplay, the iMX8MM doesn't have automotive certification.
The drivers are implemented on iMX8 and iMX8X I recommend moving for those options.

For the codec, I recommend "WM8960".
