Apologies if this has been asked previously.
There are 3 arm clock frequencies listed in the datasheet according to the part number:
Arm Cortex-A7 Frequency | $$ |
---|---|
528 MHz | 05 |
792 MHz | 08 |
900 MHz | 09 |
I would like to request for your expert opinion if there are consequences/issues (perhaps on the reliability of the arm execution, chip life) if I don't configure the arm clock as per above frequencies? Any issues if configured to be slower or faster than the frequencies above?
Hi Nigel
operation above max. frequency defined in datasheet is not guaranteed, for below
there are no restrictions. One can look at datasheets for particular part, for i.MX6UL
it is below link
i.MX 6UltraLite Applications Processor | Single Arm® Cortex®-A7 @ 696 MHz |NXP
Reliability is described in AN1598 i.MX 6UltraLite Product Usage Lifetime
https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN5198.pdf
The same documents can be found on appropriate i.MX product pages.
Best regards
igor
