send coap messages

Hello,

 I am using  FRDM-KW41Z and working with the thread router eligible end device example. i am looking for a way to send coap/udp messages, periodically to a neighbor. which part of the code should i modify and how.

Nb: I am beginning with Thread and embedded software.
