Greetings Everyone! Me and my team are working to build a secure access control system for our client who runs a dental clinic. We need some advice, as we are confused between two MCUs, KW45Z41053AFTBT and KW45B41Z82AFTBT. Our system will use Bluetooth connectivity. I want secure Bluetooth pairing and reliable performance. We are building this system in view of future expansion, i.e., staff logging, cloud sync, etc. Can you tell us which will be more beneficial in terms of security, features, and overall capability?
Hello,
Hope you are doing well.
The KW45B is a MCU with the BLE 5.3 Radio protocol, and the KW45Z is the MCU only (without BLT 5.3 Radio protocol).
Security features support both KW45B41Zxx and KW45Z410xx, which integrates security architecture including Arm® TrustZone®-M controller and an isolated EdgeLock™ Secure Enclave supporting hardware cryptographic accelerators, random number generators and key generation, storage and management and secure debug.
For features such as Access Control, BLE controller stack and radio drivers you will need the BLE radio core that is part of the KW45B41Z82AFTBT. For more information about these specifications you can check the KW45 Data Sheet.
Also, if you are in a planning or development stage, I would recommend considering the KW45B41Z EVK.
Best Regards,
Ana Sofia.
