Network should be IPv6 to operate Matter?

Matter is a technology based on IPv6.

It means that All network that interconnect Matter devices must be on IPv6?

Isn't it available for Matter to operate on IPv4 network?

or Is it backward compatible to such as IPv4 network using like bridges?
