NXP Bluetooth Mesh device and stack

Although the Bluetooth stack standard has not been ratified yet, my customer would like to gain access to the beta mesh stacks so that they can perform some early development and get some performance metrics and feedback with the device supplier. My customer realized that once the Bluetooth SIG compliant Mesh standard is released, all that is required is probably a firmware update from the beta to final mesh stack to test again to reduce the learning curve.

Can NXP recommend the Bluetooth Mesh device and stack?

Should my customer goes with NXP KW31Z or new QN9080? https://blog.nxp.com/portable-wearable/bluetooth-low-energy-for-the-internet-of-things

Cos don't want to go with mesh protocols like Thread and ZigBee.

Hello delionong‌,

currently, if you want to try out the BLE Mesh, the only device you can use is KW31Z or KW41Z with an appopriate connectivity stack. I wrote more about the Mesh in this thread if you are interested.

Regards,

Daniel
