Hello NXP,

I am currently working on the KW45B41Z-LOC for a channel sounding application. According to the available on the NXP website, a wireless ranging example is provided (Section 4.1: Downloading SDK with Wireless Ranging Application). The manual mentions that this example should be downloaded from the middleware section under Wireless Localization.

However, I am unable to locate this option in the SDK Builder page.

Could you please assist me in downloading the SDK that includes the wireless ranging application?

Thank you for your support.

Hi, @priyanshua1

Wireless Localization is under controlled, and be accessible to selected users only.

As I know, firstly you need to sign NDA with NXP, then apply for secure files access to move forward.

And also I checked on my side, for KW45B41Z-LOC, the latest SDK(v25.12.00) doesn't include Wireless Localization. If you already signed NDA and also already requested secure files access to get Wireless Localization, then you can check v25.06.00 SDK. On my side, v25.06.00 SDK includes Wireless Localization Middleware.

If you already signed NDA, would you please send to me your NDA number, so that I can check whether it is still valid.

Here, the community is public. To protect your personal/company's information, please send your NDA number to my private working email: christine.li@nxp.com.

Please not post it here in public community.

If you haven't sign NDA, you can refer to below link to move forward, but for your info, it will need some time.

And I could not guarantee that you can get this secure files access because our Product Management team will assess your project annual volume.

The last but not the least, for KW45, currently we do not recommend to use Channel sounding feature, and also not update new SDK to support CS feature.

If you insist to use Channel sounding feature, we strongly recommend to choose KW47, but not KW45.

Best regards,

Christine.

Hi Christine,

Thank you for your response.

According to the KW45B41Z‑LOC user manual, the device supports Channel Sounding–based applications. However, for the KW47 device, I do not see any corresponding SDK available in the MCUXpresso SDK Builder. This suggests that the board may currently be in a pre‑production stage.

If you could please clarify whether the KW47 fully supports Channel Sounding (CS) and Angle of Arrival (AoA), and whether NXP plans to provide sample applications or reference implementations for these features, it would be very helpful. With that confirmation, I would definitely consider this option.

Hi, @priyanshua1

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, KW47 supports Channel sounding feature, and also this feature should already be included in our SDK v25.12.

You can download this SDK through below link:, input KW47, choose one of the board, EVK or LOC, then click Others. It will show like below:

And currently the "Wireless Localization" middleware is also under controlled, is only accessible for selected users. I am checking with our product management team about the process how to get approved for this.

Below info is also for your reference:

KW47 is now publicly released to market and should only be used for Channel Sounding. KW45 is not qualified and won’t be qualified at BT SIG for Channel Sounding (KW47 offers much more and is the right choice). The AoA feature in default is not supported on KW47, but if needed, we can develop for you. But the development should be evaluated according to your annual volume.

Best regards,

Christine.

Hi, @priyanshua1

About access KW47's wireless localization middleware in SDK, it need our marketing team's grant.

Please let me know whether have any other concerns on this case.

Best regards,
